What's the difference between sterile and non-sterile?+
Sterile swabs and pads are EO- or gamma-sterilised and individually pouched for direct wound contact and surgical use. Non-sterile are bulk-packed for general dressing, prep and applications where sterility is established at the point of care.
Are the abdominal pads X-ray detectable?+
Yes — each lap sponge carries a radiopaque X-ray-detectable thread, so it can be identified and retrieved during or after surgery, helping prevent retained surgical material.
What is the shelf life and how should these be stored?+
Sterile gauze carries a 4-year shelf life from manufacture. Store below 40 °C, in a dry place, away from direct sunlight, and use before the labelled expiry.
